Redesigning or Restyling a Vintage Wedding Dress

Honor the past. Wear it your way.

We specialize in wedding dress restoration and alteration, particularly for heirlooms and antique gowns.

Our background in costuming and red carpet means we know vintage fashion and can turn on a dime! We’ve raised ‘50s dropped waists, lowered waists on ‘70s dirndls, added and removed sleeves, and changed necklines and skirt shapes, attaching veils and headpieces to modern hair accessories— you name it, we’ve done it! So, you can rest assured that your garment is in experienced, highly skilled hands.

Your Customization or Restoration Consultation

Every transformation begins with a one-on-one designer consultation, where we:

  1. Assess fabric, stitching, structure, and embellishments
  2. Identify areas needing reinforcement or cleaning
  3. Discuss sizing changes
  4. Explore restyling options
  5. Create a custom sketch of your redesigned gown

This ensures clarity, confidence, and excitement about the design direction.

We have restored dresses from as far back as 1895, and we have restyled and resized dresses from the 1920s to the 1980s. We can reinforce dry rotted fabrics or source vintage fabrics and lace to use for repairs or replace parts of a dress. Our experience handling vintage and antique dresses means your heirloom will be in very experienced hands.
